The Bio-Plastics & Degradable Plastics Zone has been newly established this year to provide participants with the latest environmental protection solutions and multitudinous green business opportunities. The idea is supported by many exhibitors and visitors because the special area makes it easier for them to match with their partners. Here we introduce some of the exhibitors and their products exhibited in the zone.
Highly biodegradable products from Shenzhen Ecomann Biotechnology
Shenzhen Ecomann Biotechnology exhibits a series of plastic products, including injection products, plastic film, blown bottle, hose and biological elastomer. Sales Manager Zeng Qinghai said that the products are fully biodegradable in a short period of time without damage to the environment.
The company is exhibiting in CHINAPLAS for the first time. Mr Zeng said: "It is very good for CHINAPLAS to arrange a special area for biodegradable materials. This will allow target customers to establish initial contact with us and lay foundation for cooperation in the future."
He suggested that more publicity for biodegradable materials could be made available. "We expect that more people can know more about PHA products through this exhibition and more potential customers can support our sales increase in the second half of this year."
Mr Zeng said that currently global plastic products are mainly petroleum-based plastics. Limited petroleum resources and hardly degradable petroleum-based materials will bring serious influence to the environment either in the way of landfill or incineration. Biodegradable materials can settle these problems well and raw materials are renewable. "We face challenges in market development. On the one hand, higher price and less demand arise from lower productivity; on the other hand, the processing performance should be improved."
Suzhou Hipro Polymers introduces new bio-based engineering plastics
Suzhou Hipro Polymers participates in CHINAPLAS for the second time, exhibiting its new bio-based engineering plastics in the special exhibition zone for biological materials.
According to Sales Supervisor, Pan Quanming, the raw materials for the company's materials are biological materials, offering stable and reliable performance. "Our environmental friendly products can substitute engineering plastic extracted and processed from petroleum. Now this product has been widely used as nylon pipe for cars. It has exceeded 50% share in domestic markets, thanks to good stability and competitive price. We are actively entering the international market," said Mr Pan.
"We expect that our special counter in the biological material area of this exhibition will allow people to know us better. We are quickly growing in the new industry. This exhibition may help us find larger development space and establish relations with more customers."
HLEP exhibits new energy saving products made of starch
Wuhan Huali Environmental Protection Technology Co. Ltd. (HLEP) demonstrates the industrialization of biodegradable materials in China. The company takes part in drafting the national standard on biodegradable materials. At CHINAPLAS 2011, Betty Ren, assistant of HLEP marketing supervisor, said the company is participating in CHINAPLAS for the second time this year. It exhibits a series of products from starch-based raw materials to starch-based finished products. These products, mainly extracted from corn starch, are environmentally friendly and safe, with the advantages of low carbon emission and energy saving.
Miss Ren said that the special exhibition zone makes the theme of each exhibition area clearer so that customers can easily find their target products. This is also convenient for publicity. "I hope that the area for bio-plastics and degradable plastics could be enlarged and located in a more prominent location as energy saving and environmentally friendly products are the trends.
Beijing Macrolink Biomaterial exhibits products of high standard
This is the first time that Beijing Macrolink Biomaterial Co. Ltd. participates in this exhibition. The company exhibits a range of products, including biodegradable materials made of starch. There are film, clothing hanger, toothbrush and a series of disposable articles made with degradable materials. All of the products are biodegradable and environmentally friendly, and can be fully decomposed into CO2 and H2O within 180 days in a normal environment, manager of the company, Mr Jiang, explained.
He said: "Our products have passed the international safety authentication and non-toxic tests. They are absolutely safe and reliable, and suitable for use with food and other daily necessities. They are exported to the EU, USA and Japan in large quantities now. Our company is also a supplier of new-type waste bags in the list of governmental procurement. Our product quality is worth trusting."
Xinfu Pharmaceutical promotes unique degradable resins
At the exhibition site of CHINAPLAS 2011, Xin Junhua, Business Manager of Hangzhou Xinfu Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Province, introduced the company’s fully bio-degradable materials, the resins of Biocosafe series, including BiocosafeTM 2003 resin, which is resistant to tear and high-impact strength, and suitable for film, plastic bag and elastomer products, and the blown film is as thin as 0.006mm. The properties of BiocosafeTM 1803 resin feature: thermal distortion temperature ≥60℃, ultimate elongation ≥600%, suitable for extrusion, sheet material, as well as positive and negative pressure moulding products. The BiocosafeTM 1903 resin, with thermal distortion temperature ≥80℃, ultimate elongation ≥600% and good toughness, is suitable for temperature resistant injection, spinning and extrusion products. The company also exhibits relevant products made with these three resins.
This is the third time that Xinfu Pharmaceutical attends the show. Mr Xin said that the professional exhibition zone allows customers to focus on their targets. "We expect that more people will understand our No. 2003 material in this exhibition. This is a material suitable for film products and our productivity has reached 13,000t/y.
"At present, only BASF and Xinfu are manufacturing PBAT material in the world. This material is suitable for blowing moulding, casting, multi-layer compounding and other film moulding methods, and can be used for manufacturing shopping bags, rubbish bags, cleaning bags, plastic film, warping film and other film products and bags.
"For PBAT material, a large gap remains between the market demand (approximately 500,000t/y) and the actual global productivity (only 87,000t/y). Therefore, we will further expand productivity on the basis of 10,000t/y production line," Mr Xin said.
