This year's CHINAPLAS plays host to a total of 11 pavilions formed by exhibitors from countries and regions over the world. Among them, the pavilion of Turkey has joined CHINAPLAS for the first time ever, bringing a number of latest Turkish plastics technology to Asia.
The continually active participation by pavilions is partly attributed to the fact that technology providers from around the world see China as an important base for promoting their products and services to the region.
As Christian Kiene, Project Manager of Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, pointed out: "Looking at the growing and highly potential plastics industry in China and Asia in general, it is not surprising to see a constant growth of Austrian subsidiaries in the region."
The Austrian pavilion is significantly bigger than it was last year, comprising 16 companies, of them two are first-time exhibitors of CHINAPLAS.
According to Mr Kiene, the Austrian pavilion features a wide range of products, including modern turn-key stretching units, bag production machines, injection moulding machines, plastics recycling plant, extrusion technology, high performance injection moulds, and moulded parts from rubber compounds.
Today Austrian plastics manufacturers and processors produce goods worth around EUR6.2 billion. The companies are characterized by "their thirst for innovation", which contributed to "high quality original designs and custom-made functional products", Mr Kiene added.
Italian pavilion is another major participant of the show. For at least two decades, Italy has been one of the leading providers of plastics technology, with the total export value of Italian plastics machinery to China exceeding EUR100 million a year. More than 40 companies are occupying a total exhibition area of about 1,000 square metres. At least four of the companies are attending for the first time, according to Claudio Celata, Chairman Office Coordinator of ASSOCOMAPLAST, the Italian Plastics and Rubber Processing Machinery and Mould Manufacturers' Association.
A wide range of Italian plants, core machinery, auxiliary equipment are presented, from extrusion lines for film, pipes, compounds to injection moulding machines, and from printing machines to complete recycling plants, he said.
Taiwan pavilion is a busy zone | From Asia, the pavilion of Taiwan bringsto the show 14 Taiwanese exhibitors, of whom eight are first-time participants of CHINAPLAS.
The exhibitors showcase a miniature yet comprehensive view of Taiwan's moulding industry, covering design, production, analysis, hard and software, peripheral machinery, and operations management of the industry. The exhibitors display the newest versions of moulding analytic operation software, with mid- to high-end OEM moulding design production.
With strengthened cross-straits ties, interactions between mainland Chinese manufacturers and their Taiwanese counterparts are expected to increase, leading to fresh opportunities.
