CPRJ:What will be the main exhibits displayed in CHINAPLAS 2010? What are the main features?
TM:Innovation and Focus will be themes for Lubrizol Engineered Polymers display in CHINAPLAS 2010 as demonstrated in 6 application areas.
We have many new items this year as Lubrizol moves beyond just TPU as the featured product. Our traditional Estane TPU will be represented in the first of the focus displays the Industrial area display.
The second display area is Electronics which is a high growth area for Lubrizol Engineered Polymers leveraging interest in performance elastomers the in mobile phones and flat panel display. Electronics companies are truly looking for performance such as low dirt pick-up, abrasion resistance, soft touch and differentiating look.
Our third focus area is Medical, particularly in medical devices where customers understand the materials needed and then are for customized materials to meet their special needs. Aging populations and increasing affluence in Asia make this an interesting potential area for the future.
The fourth focus area is Sports and Recreation for items such as performance rainwear and sports shoes. Asia has been a key production area for global supply of sports shoes. Breathable, soft plasticizer free materials and highly transparent TPU will be featured in this area. We are positioning our products for this market as we see continued growth as Asia also becomes a key consumption market.
The fifth area is Transportation to meet the growing mobility need in Asia be it cars, bus, train or airplane there are special needs for higher performance elastomeric materials.
Our sixth area is Temprite which is a new engineering polymer added to our display this year. Temprite is a special polymer material that has been used globally to replace metal in the piping area. It can be used to for hot water distribution without modification, it can be used in industrial plants for corrosive materials and is even being used in fire sprinkler systems to replace steel pipes.
CPRJ:Will Lubrizol introduce any green products onsite?
TM:In addition to the tradition applications the Industrial display also includes some new areas of focus such as materials that can be used in "green energy" such as wind power generation and photo voltaic cell production.
CPRJ:To better serve your customers, what goals have been set by Lubrizol?
TM:Lubrizol Engineered Polymers is looking forwards to working closer with the engineers in the end markets applications to fully understand their needs to focus our innovations on meeting their future needs and thus forming our future.
