Roland Ritter, Director, Asia Pacific, Kraiburg TPE, joined reporter Adrian Chan from CPRJ (China Plastic & Rubber Journal) and AdsaleCPRJ.com in the pre-CHINAPLAS interview. He will discuss the company's development in Asia as well as the ongoing business reorganization.

CPRJ：What technologies will be displayed in CHINAPLAS 2010? What are the main features?
Ritter：The main focus for CHINAPLAS 2010 will be on compounds for medical market with our new product Thermolast M. Also presented are compounds with approvals for drinking water/ potable (WRAS, KTW, W270, ACS). I believe Kraiburg is one of the very few companies supplying similar products in Asia and China. These products have all passed stringent European safety standards.
CPRJ：What are the domestic and overseas sales in 2009 for Kraiburg TPE?
Ritter：Frankly speaking Kraiburg TPE in Asia Pacific had no setback in sales revenue and was able to fulfill the Sales budget by 100% with a remarkable order volume for 2010 already. In the start of 2009 we were worried that we were running into a loss but it never happened.
The Asia Pacific, as far as I know, was the best market with the strongest growth in 2009. The EU and the US were less good but still managed to make profits.
CPRJ：What are the new strategies adopted by Kraiburg TPE that react to the changes caused by the economic crisis.
Ritter：In April 2009 our company started the reorganizing process that aimed to improve efficiency within Asia Pacific. We are now able to serve our global customers with "one voice" worldwide.
In the Asia Pacific region Kraiburg TPE is reinforcing its R&D activities with a focus on Consumer Products and Automotive market:
- We will provide Kraiburg TPE solutions which requires FDA and approvals for the contact with "fatty food"
- Kraiburg TPE Team automotive will increase the numbers of official and universal approvals and certification for the major car manufacturers in Asia.
- Our new plant in Malaysia with an efficient size brings us very close to our customers. Client all over Asia can be reached now within 2 weeks shipment time.
CPRJ：How does Kraiburg TPE observe the new development trend of the industry after 2010?
Ritter：For future developments Kraiburg is looking for extended functions with our TPE materials, they include TPEs with wide range of active agents (pharmaceuticals, fragrances, fungicides) and sensitive TPEs with sensory functions (changing color by different environmental conditions like UV, air pollution, humidity, temperature, etc)
