Excited about the plastics machinery market in Asia in the past two years, German injection molding machine Arburg is looking forward to the healthcare market, a most important plastics application market of enormous potential driven by the healthcare reforms put forward by the Chinese government. Christine Li of the Marketing Department of Arburg (Shanghai) Co Ltd talks about the current market situation as well as shares their views on the upcoming silver jubilee edition of CHINAPLAS to be held in Guangzhou from May 17-20.
CPRJ: China Plastic & Rubber Journal and AdsaleCPRJ.com Ms Li: Christine Li, Marketing Department, Arburg (Shanghai) Co Ltd
CPRJ: How do you see the development of the Asian market in the next few years? Particularly, what do you expect from China?
Ms Li: Asia was the only bright spot during the economic crisis. The Chinese government's policy to boost domestic demand led to an exceptionally strong economy. The plastics and rubber industry benefited a lot from such robust Chinese economy. Other factors are leading to even more business opportunities, such as inflation, financial crisis as well as Asia's rapid development. As the market focus is shifting from Europe and the US to Asia, we expect a faster growth in Asia.
CPRJ: What would be the next user industries that have the greatest potential?
Ms Li: China is carrying out reforms on its healthcare system, that's why healthcare will become the most potential industry. LEDs and light guide plates are also promising industries following the drastic increase in demand for electronic products worldwide. Packaging will be another fast growing industry.
CPRJ: The market pays great attention to environmentally friendly, energy-saving equipment. What do you think about the future of green plastics and energy-saving machinery?
Ms Li: People worldwide are more and more concerned about low carbon emissions and environmental friendliness. Arburg also follows this trend and has launched a number of hydraulic and electric hybrid machines, fully electric injection molding machines as well as energy-saving hydraulic machines.
CPRJ: In what ways has CHINAPLAS helped Arburg in market promotion? How are they realized?
Ms Li: CHINAPLAS has become bigger and bigger and more and more influential. Speaking of the scale and exhibition area, CHINALAS is more important than ever in Asia and the number of overseas visitors rises year after year. In addition, CHINAPLAS has helped greatly in introducing new products to the China market. It is also very effective in promoting our company image.
CPRJ: In what ways has CHINAPLAS improved?
Ms Li: CHINAPLAS is no longer an exhibition showing machinery only. It covers companies from all segments of the injection molding industry, from plastics machinery, auxiliary equipment, materials, molds and consultation services. So all kinds of information relating to injection molding can be found.
CPRJ: Can we have your blessing on CHINAPLAS 2011, which will be in its 25th edition this year?
Ms Li: We wish CHINAPLAS ever greater success. Exhibitors like us need this platform to foster closer relationship with customers.
