BOY, a Germany-based manufacturer of injection molding machines with clamping forces below 1,000kN, will show a range of groundbreaking products at the CHINAPLAS 2011 exhibition scheduled to take place on May 17-20 in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, China.
Among them are a BOY XS (100kN clamping force) and the newly developed BOY 35 E (350kN clamping force) are two machines designed with the latest "Made in Germany" technology.
"The BOY XS allows for maximum performance in the smallest space," says Klaus Engel, Export Manager of BOY. He adds "with a footprint of only 0.7m2 and a stroke volume from 0.1cm3 up to 8.0cm3, parts can be produced precisely in continuous production". With optimal automation solutions, the compact BOY XS opens new possibilities for micro and single-cavity applications.
Economical single-cavity molding is attained through a specially engineered nozzle system. It reaches right into the cavity. Therefore, the molded part is manufactured without a sprue. This eliminates the need for expensive mold-specific hot runner systems.
Due to the low plasticizing volume of the special nozzle, the user can produce parts extremely economical without requiring additional energy or material for a hot runner and sprue.
"Energy saving, more precise, more dynamic and significantly more quiet - these are the main advantages of the E-series with the new servo-drive. The BOY servo-drive is the best of the best in drive technology. All previous drive concepts are surpassed," explains Mr Engel.
The BOY E-series runs very quietly and has a very compact footprint of only 1.9m2. The four tie-bar BOY 35 E with its cantilevered, two-platen clamping system is one of the most compact injection molding machines in its size range. Also new with the BOY 35 E is the swivel-out injection unit. This feature significantly reduces changeover times of the plasticizing unit.
