ISRA Vision, the global supplier of systems for technical surface inspection, has recently announced its exhibits for CHINAPLAS 2011. Exhibits include process management equipment for plastic film, printing and converting industry, namely Smash surface inspection system and PrintStar inspection system.
According to the company, Smash surface inspection systems are used in all process steps. For example, they detect problems with substrates during extrusion or with coatings, so that producer can react to problems timely to avoid wastage of raw materials. Plastic films can be examined for defects such as holes, stains or vulnerabilities that affect their permeability. Paper, film or metal is inspected during coating and painting process for all typical defects, hence a protocol can be created with defect statistics, roller notes and defect images.
PrintStar, claimed by the company, is an intelligent inspection solution for roll-to-roll packaging converters. This product is used as an insurance to protect the business and to reduce production costs. It can run at any speed with any number of cameras, while still using the golden master inspection on the complete web. It includes ColorWatch to enable the operator to verify that color does not vary during a run, PrintTrack to provide repeat to repeat measurement and to monitor press and material metrics, QuickProof, a proofing system that helps checking production matches the customer order and finally MultiView that enables to the verification of integrity of added value processes such as embossing, varnish or coatings.
RewindManager is a technology that can be used to extend SMASH or PrintSTAR systems to automate the removal of waste in finishing department. It is reportedly be able to take the roll with defects and to make sure that they are not shipped to a customer.
