The Frankenberg based German hot runner technology supplier EWIKON, announces its HPS III-MH nozzle and an electric drive valve gate system with step-motor technology will be exhibited at CHINAPLAS 2011. The products are aimed at medical and packaging applications.
HPS III-MH nozzle is suitable for direct side gating of parts and for compact valve gating with low cavities distance as low as 6 mm. The layout is said to allow easy installation and exchange of tip inserts from parting line of mold and requires standard mold inserts only. Several tip versions can be selected. The company said that for production of syringes or pipettes with highest dimensional accuracy requirements is a version with 60 degree tip angle, which is capable for eliminating core deflection that caused by the melt pressure.
Another exhibit is an electric drive valve gate system with step-motor technology for medical application. It is available in three sizes and can be combined with all standard nozzles. Because there is no potential contamination from lubricated compressed air, the system is suitable for clean room applications. It can access multiple valve pin positions within one molding cycle. This option, claimed by the company, can broaden the range of applications and offers new methods of resolution for injection molding applications, especially when considering the growing tendency to integrate additional functions into molds.
