Eastman Chemical Company announced last Thursday (February 4) that RaZbaby, a manufacturer of innovative infant care products, has introduced the Keep-it-Kleen pacifier made with Eastman Tritan copolyester. Tritan, a new-generation copolyester, helps the infant care market respond to consumer demand for products that are free of bisphenol-A (BPA) and offer superior clarity, dishwasher durability and toughness.
The Keep-it-Kleen pacifier features a spring-mechanized closing shield made with Eastman Tritan copolyester that is designed to gently close when dropped. The uniquely designed mechanism doesn't pinch a baby's sensitive skin and helps keep the pacifier's nipple sanitary.
"We wanted a material that was visually appealing and durable," said Aida Viana, vice president of sales for RaZbaby. "Eastman Tritan copolyester offered the clarity and toughness we needed with the added benefit of being BPA-free."
RaZbaby replaced polycarbonate with Eastman Tritan copolyester for the manufacture of the Keep-it-Kleen pacifier in April 2009 because Tritan is not manufactured using BPA. In addition, it offers design flexibility and ease of processing for the complicated and creative pacifier design.
The Keep-it-Kleen pacifier comes in 15 colorful designs, as well as one nipple size for children birth to 3 years old.
