In recent years, plastics and rubber technology is developing at rocket speed, opening up new markets one after another.“Green technology”and“Innovation”will be the keywords for the future, just like they are for CHINAPLAS this year. CHINAPLAS 2012 has achieved record-breaking scale of 210,000 square meters. The organizer, Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd, anticipates more than 100,000 visitors during the four-day show. In addition to the 17 halls of the exhibition venue, eight outdoor exhibition halls have been set up in the central square to accommodate more than 2,700 exhibitors from 35 countries and regions. The total exhibition area this year is CHINAPLAS' largest ever, a 40% increase in space from the last Shanghai edition in 2010, and broke the show's record scale (180,000 square meters) set by CHINAPLAS 2011 in Guangzhou. This year's CHINAPLAS has a total of 13 country/region pavilions, another new record. Thailand pavilion is exhibiting for the first time while Korean pavilion made a comeback after its last appearance in 2009. In a press conference held yesterday, Adsale Exhibition Services, organizer of CHINAPLAS, stressed that it is vital to meet the needs of both the exhibitors and visitors of CHINAPLAS, as they take part in the fair as a way of investing into the future of their businesses. Chairman of Adsale Group, Stanley Chu, says he was moved to see the streams of visitors entering the fair yesterdeay, the first day of CHINAPLAS 2012.“This year, the exhibition space amounted to 210,000 sqm, but we still face difficulty in accommodating all the companies which would like to take part due to the limited number of exhibition venues available in China, especially in the highly commercialized city like Shanghai.” He expects that more new exhibition venues will be built by 2014, and Adsale will keep trying to extend the period of the fair from the present four days, as well as the time available for exhibitors to move in and install their exhibits prior to the show.“I hope that the fair can bring more substantial results to both the exhibitors and visitors, who have invested a lot of their time, effort and money to make their presence here.” Mr Chu says the growth of the fair cannot be observed separately from the growth of the plastics and rubber industry in China. CHINAPLAS has become the world's No. 2 and Asia's No.1 trade fair of its kind. The big demand for exhibition space is closely linked to the expansion of the industry. Both the exhibitors and visitors can expect to benefit greatly from the fair this year, which is likely to receive totally about 100,000 visitors, among them about 20% come from overseas countries and regions – a proportion regarded as significant among all industrial fairs in China. Potential buyers come to CHINAPLAS from everywhere in China and they are here not only to look at the display but also keen to make the purchase, according to Mr Chu. The products they intend to buy are wide ranging, from small parts to large machines. The plastics and rubber industry also contributes to the development of other industries in the crucial aspects of energy conservation and environmental protection. Chairman of Adsale Group, Stanley Chu, commented that enterprises in China are currently perplexed by the shortage of labor and electricity, while poor production facilities which do not meet the requirements of resourcs-saving are being eliminated. The various kinds of technologies, from robot hands, energy saving servo motors, all-electric injection molding machines, to bioplastics materials and the many new recycling technologies, offer effective solutions to environmental protection and raw materials shortage. The“Bioplastics & Degradable Plastics Zone”launched successfully last year has been expanded by 40% and named simply“Bioplastics Zone”this year. Besides, the“Rubber Machinery & Equipment Zone”, which received overwhelming response last year, has doubled in scale, featuring a wider range of products. There are altogether 11 theme zones, displaying more than 2,500 sets of machines. Therefore, the“4th International Seminar on Bioplastics Applications”, a concurrent event of CHINAPLAS, has a strong line-up of global bioplastics professionals and leaders of famous brands to share with the audience their insights and experiences in applying bioplastics. (Last updated: 12 April 2012) 各地企業組團前來搜羅新技術得益於各種利好因素，本屆CHINAPLAS展會除了在規模及參展商數量以外，還將再添一項新紀錄。據主辦方預計，本屆展會參觀者數目將突破10萬名，其中包括了各地行業協會所組織的參觀團成員，他們昨日一早便到達展館登記入場，令現場氣氛更熱鬧。中塑協農膜專業委員會組織了80多家企業前來參觀，秘書長劉敏向“展報”記者表示，未來塑料在農膜上的應用將更為重要，而且多趨向長效、環保、耐老化，甚至能防病抗病。他說：“我們的團員中，除了農膜生產企業之外，還有一些輔助農膜生產的企業，我們都希望通過這次的參觀，可以更全面地瞭解與農膜生產相關的新技術和新設備。” 上海電線電纜行業協會也組織了70多個企業前來參觀，秘書長張忠華說，組織這次參觀團的主要目的有兩個：其一，認識國內其他生產高端電線產品的供應商，尋求生產目前行業緊缺的、長期以來依賴進口的高端電線電纜的廠家；其二，瞭解國外推出的一些先進的新技術和新產品。他說，塑料在電線電纜行業的應用大有可為，特別是環保、阻燃的趨勢十分明顯，團員亦已有相應的採購計劃。另外，無錫市模具行業協會秘書長潘堯.表示，協會每年都會組織相關企業前往參觀CHINAPLAS，因為這是歷年來亞洲最大的塑料工業展覽會。“今年我們共帶領了30多家企業前來參觀，期望瞭解一些塑料模具方面的新產品，包括一些注塑器以及新的加工工藝等。我們希望今年的CHINAPLAS不僅能看到相關的塑料製品，同時也看到更多高端的塑料模具加工設備。” 由此可見，CHINAPLAS的國際性和規模性吸引了不少企業組團前來，同時，各地塑料工業的發展也增強了它們參觀的積極性。今年，貴州省的塑料工業發展勢頭良好，省塑協特精心組織了23家企業前來參觀。協會主任徐兵說：“由於會員企業所從事的範圍比較廣，涉及吹膜、包裝、管材、原材料等各個領域，所以大家的關注點也比較多，這與CHINAPLAS本身的規模性是十分契合的。” 中塑協醫用專委會陳俊堯副秘書長表示，他們的參觀團共有30多人，並在展會現場設置了一個展位，以期瞭解更多關於醫用塑料方面的新技術和新進展，特別是一些精密度比較高的設備。 “醫用塑料是醫療器械行業中較小的細分領域，但國家也十分關注它的發展。2010年，全國醫用器械的工業總產值為1137億元人民幣，其中醫用塑料佔200億元人民幣。隨著《“十二五”醫療器械發展規劃》的頒佈和醫保的普及，未來，醫用塑料所佔的比例將不斷地擴大，前景大好。”他補充道。來自建材行業的浙江省化學建材行業協會秘書長吳東亮也說：“我們十分看好塑料在建材行業的應用，希望看到更多的環保新材料被用到建築行業中。” 圖：臺灣區電腦輔助成型技術交流會2012國際橡塑展考察團圖：CHINAPLAS 2012巴西考察團

The car was based on the concepts of lightweight, environmentally friendly and energy-efficient. “It's our honor that the judges chose our design among many excellent works,”says one of the group members.“Our design may not really exist in the future, but millions of cars with these concepts are bound to lead the future auto market and trusted by the public.” “Batshark”was inspired by the elegant and agile marine creature with the same name. The body of the car is constructed with special materials, utilizing solar energy as the major power supply. Vice President of China Plastics Machinery Industry Association (CPMIA), Qian Yao'en, says that the association would like to help enterprises in the industry to transform from the traditional cost competition to quality competition, and from quality competition to design competition through various activities. Fukutomi offers tees with customised logo printing. Flower pots made of PLA can be buried with plant seedlings, so it is not necessary to remove them from the ground. WinGram is a major CA material supplier to most of the spectacle frame makers in China who produce European and US high quality branded frames. Two years ago they started developing biodegradable CA and successfully formulated their own 100% biodegradable polymer material which was recently certified to ISO14855. After the biodegradable material launch not only do the spectacle frame makers now ask for the material to build up their own eco line, but also toy manufacturers started to test the material. An important advantage of working with WinGram CA material is that there is no need to modify or alter existing tooling or injection machines. The material passed comprehensive testing, such as impact, drop and hardening tests. Three grades are available: S70 is a 100% biodegradable CA. It is specially formulated for spectacle frame production and it is highly transparent if needed. It is suitable for both injection moulding and sheet extrusion. S72 is a 100% compostable CA. It is slightly yellowish but good for semi-transparent injection moulding and sheet extrusion processes for toys or other plastic products. S73W: This grade is a hybrid of CA and traditional plastics, or formulated as 100% compostable upon-request. The first generation of Eco-Keep products arrived on the supermarket shelves of the Hubei Province in China at the end of 2010. Until June last year, Eco-keep successfully entered into the procurement system of more than 400 Wal-Mart supermarket stores in China.
