Around 350 guests attended HASCO's Open House

Some 350 guests attended the Open House organized by HASCO on September 9 in Lüdenscheid, Germany, which covers the entire value added chain for injection molding together with 25 exhibitors.

After an introduction setting out current developments at HASCO by CEO Christoph Ehrlich and Executive Vice President Sales & Business Development, Dirk Paulmann, the office lecture program started with a look into the future.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thomas Seul, President of the Association of German Tool and Mold Makers (VDWF), spoke about the Potential and implementation options for mold making 4.0.

Following this, Dirk Dombert (3D SYSTEMS) provided insight into additive manufacturing in the field of machining. Holger Wüst and Ansgar Claes (MECADAT AG) demonstrated ways of reducing the number of correction loops on the basis of rheological analyses.

After Manuel Schmellenkamp (SIGMA Engineering GmbH) had given a lecture on virtual molding as added value for mold building, Klaus Zimmermann (HASCO) ended the morning with information on low-stress material.

In the afternoon, Frank Mumme (KIMW Lüdenscheid) reported on thermal barrier layers. Christian Schumacher (BARLOG Plastics GmbH) provided information on the conditions necessary for successfully processing high performance polymers. Andreas Filler (hotset GmbH) presented a paper on a new variothermal mold heating system.

The lecture session was brought to an end by HASCO presentations from Jochen Müller on optimizing setup time and Klaus Meier on the advantages of the HASCO clamping unit.

The event was rounded off by guided tours through HASCO's modern production systems for standard components, complete with its unmanned transport system. A fully automatic high-rack storage system makes stress-relief annealed material available for production on a continuous basis, explained the company.

"We are delighted at the high number of professional visitors, the many interesting discussions and the positive feedback from our guests," said Mr. Ehrlich.
