More than 200 buyer groups from China and other countries are making their way to CHINAPLAS 2017 – a technology feast that they cannot afford to miss!

Muhammad Akhtar, froma company called Makkah Autos in Pakistan, said the demands for auto parts in India and Pakistan are high.Auto parts from India and China are cheaper and have flooded the market. It is believed that they have taken over the majority of market share.

Makkah Auto has been a wholesaler and retailer of auto spare parts for more than 10 years. The parts range from 70cc for motorcycle to 150cc for all models. This is the first time that Akhtar attends CHINAPLAS and he is looking forward to a wide array of lightweight components manufacturing technology.

We feel encouraged to attend the fair, which would be a source of inspiration for us infetching new manufacturing technology,” he said.

The construction sector is among those identified by the Pakistani government asa driver of economic growth. Increased activities in this sector benefited some of the related industries, including plastics.

Huge investments are pouring in from international investors, such as those from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Singapore, Malaysia, China and so on. It was estimated that US$43 billion had been injected intodeveloping two islands of Bin Qasim and US$68 billionon a New City Project in Hawksbay, Karachi. There are also mega construction projects in Lahore, Gwadar, Mangla& DHA Karachi and Islamabad.

Muhammad AtharZeb from Parkistan's Athar& Co. noted that the new construction schemes of local and foreign leasing and financial institutionsare playing an important role in the sector’s growth. There are numerous infrastructure projects in progress in Pakistan, including a large number of flyovers, underpasses, highways, tunnels, dams, roads and industrial projects.

This is the first time that AtharZeb visits CHINAPLAS, and members of his delegation are seeking technologies from a diverse field, including injection molding technology for auto parts and technology for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipe-making.

As an entrepreneur, we are confident that our participation in CHINAPLAS will enhance the development of our company,” he said.

Meanwhile, more than 30 members from the plastics association of henan province came as a group to the show. Altogether they cover a wide range of industrial sectors, from plastic products, pelletizing, to plastic pipelines and auto parts.

Duan Tongsheng, president of the association, said economic downturn, coupled with changing national policies and rising costs bring both challenges and opportunities. And plastics enterprises have been trying to take active measures to save energy and reduce emission.

We will check out new technologies and new equipment from home and abroad in this exhibition, which is an excellent platform.Specifically, more than half of our group members will have the intention to purchase products, including new materials related to lightweight car, plastic pipes and plastic products, as well as technologies for pelletizingand packaging.

Chen Shiyong, senior mold engineer at Guangzhou Improve Medical Instruments Co. Ltd., came with a dozen of people from the same field, who are mainly engaged in research and development for medical products, raw materials and molds.

Chen said apart from looking for mold manufacturers, they also seek technology to shorten production cycle, as well as medical-grade modified raw materials and injection molding machinery.

From Midea, chief engineer for household products Lin Yongqiang joined a buyer group which consists of more than 100 people, mostly engaged in research and development for household appliances.

Lin said raw material prices have been going up, while those of end-products could not keep pace of the rise, causing some disturbances to the household appliance industry. Some measures have been implemented by enterprises in the industry to deal with the challenge, such asimproving efficiency, reduce manufacturing cost, streamliningproduct models and launching versatile spare parts.

What we want is get to know more new material applications and automation technology, which can help us optimize the costs and improve production efficiency,” said Liu.
