The 3rd CPRJ Plastics in Appliance/3C Electronics Conference & Showcase was successfully held yesterday (21, September).

On the second day, some participants visited the X-pro Centre of Midea Group.

The X-pro Centre is a product experience centre which showcases the new home appliances of Midea.The X-pro Centre is a product experience centre which is located in the Midea Group headquarters at Shunde.

The centre showcases the new home appliances of Midea, and most of the latest models are featured with smart controls and high energy saving to meet the high requirements of smart modern living.

According to introduction, the air-conditioner models displayed in the X-pro Centre are manufactured in the pilot smart factories in Guangzhou and Wuhan.

Midea has made hefty investment on implementing its smart manufacturing strategy. The group has been upgrading its equipment and production management system through automation, intelligentization, informatization and lean manufacturing, thereby significantly improving the efficiency of production and quality of products.

In his presentation during the first day of the Conference, Junkin Pang, MES Product Manager of MeiCloud (a member of Midea Group), emphasized the Midea injection molding factories have been adopting the smart manufacturing strategy very well.

The smart manufacturing strategy is to achieve three major objectives:

- digitalization to facilitate connection of injection molding machines, raw materials management, mold management;

- a smart factory with automated lean production, smart logistics, comprehensive quality control systems and big data analysis;

- smart manufacturing based on big data analysis, R&D and production integration, and digital operations.
