“We see a new topic in molding: smaller and higher injection pressure, which means that nozzle heaters need to be compact. INCOE is answering these needs by improving our technologies and products,” Jim Bott, Automotive Business Development Manager of INCOE Corporation told CPRJ during CHINAPLAS 2019.

Two new products of INCOE were showcased at CHINAPLAS 2019, both are compact structured but have high output. One was the Direct- Flo DF 12 nozzle with MP 24 heater, which is simple for installation and increases stability of the mold through less milling.

Another was Direct-Flo HEM-Miniature Hydraulic. It is a compact hydraulic actuator with smaller milling areas and thus less production effort is required.

In addition, INCOE also showcased a number of auto parts that produced by its solutions at the show held in Guangzhou.

“Though the automotive market is slowing down globally, but it has little impact on our business. With the trend of electrical vehicles and autonomous driving, car brands are always striving for lightweighting. Even though the volume of the cars was cut down, the volume for plastic components were increased to offset,” Said Bott.

For example, the thickness of auto parts is going down from 2-3 mm historically to 1-1.5 mm. A thinner wall production calls for high injection pressure and a precise control of the flow of plastic.

“And we have the Soft Gate product to control the valve pin speed for hydraulic valve gate systems. It offers precise control of valve pin opening time,” remarked Bott.

Car brands are also increasing the use of fibers in auto parts, for instance, glass fibers, carbon fibers or plant fibers. Though these fibers can help to increase the toughness of products, they also pose some challenges for injection molding - fibers may cause corrosion or abrasion of the nozzles in hot runner system.

“If auto parts have a  production period of two years, but with the adding of LGF 50%, the nozzle heater and its valve pin may suffer serious abrasion or even break-out, which will cause a stop or suspending production for OEMs. Therefore, a good quality of nozzle heater and valve pin can help OEMs to avoid such accident . And INCOE offers made in Germany or Made in USA products that are resistant to abrasion and corrosion," explained  Bott.

Currently, INCOE is headquartered in the US, but keeps investing in Europe, North America, China, Singapore and Brazil, to meet the fast growing local customers’ needs.

“We have a steadfast growth in China. The number of our employees has been doubled from 150 to 300 within a few years. We will expand our production in China and will announce later," concluded Bott.
