More than 2,000 exhibitors will gather at NPE 2018.
More than 2,000 exhibitors will gather at NPE 2018.

NPE 2018 is recognized as one of the world’s largest plastics trade show and conference and brings together all industry sectors, including vertical and peripheral markets, end markets, brand owners and recyclers. Produced by Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS), NPE has been a plastics leader for more than 70 years.

Held every three years, NPE attracts more than 65,000 plastics professionals from over 100 countries and features education and leading suppliers of emerging technologies, equipment and materials for every phase of plastics processing, all in more than 1.1 million net square feet of exhibit space.

Building on its most successful show in 2015, held in Orlando, Florida, NPE 2018 anticipates even greater participation from up and down the global plastics supply chain when it returns to Orlando in 2018.

As reported, NPE 2018 will feature 11 Technology Zones in total to reflect a streamlined attendee experience that will help to guide discussions between the attendee and suppliers on the newest equipment, processes and education opportunities transforming the plastics industry. Some of the highlights include the new Medical Parts Processing Zone and the new Bottle Zone, all designed to address the growing market demands, highlight innovations and technologies and provide customized education.

The new Medical Parts Processing Zone focuses on plastics materials, processes and technology advances for medical devices and diagnostics in healthcare industries. Propelling the demand for this specialized zone is the forecasted 3% growth in revenue from medical device manufacturing anticipated by 2023. This growth is centered around the emerging trend of using plastics in the medical and healthcare industries to create pioneering medical devices, equipment and treatment items.

The use of plastics in cleanroom technology is providing cost effective and environmentally friendly innovations to the medical industry. It is imperative that sterile medical equipment is manufactured in a state of the art controlled environment. The equipment, supplies and solutions making this possible will be among the highlights in the zone.

On the other hand, the new Bottle Zone will provide a comprehensive look at the trends, technical knowledge, innovations and suppliers that serve this booming sector of the plastics industry.

With plastic bottles and jars representing approximately 75 % of all plastic containers by weight and expenditures on food-and-beverages increasing 5 % in the first quarter, growth in bottling manufacturing is taking hold in the U.S. and around the globe. The Bottle Zone, presented with supporting partners PETplanet, drinktec and the International Society of Beverage Technologists (ISBT), welcomes attendees to explore the next generation of bottles and containers from 80+ manufacturers and suppliers. Attendees may learn about the latest innovations in the manufacturing of bottles and containers at the Bottle Zone Technical Forum’s specialized sessions.

In addition, visitors may connect with other plastics professionals in the Bottle Zone Biergarten, the place to do business with new and existing partners and socialize with colleagues, industry leaders and experts.

Moreover, an annual PLASTICS event co-located at NPE2018, Re|focus Sustainability & Recycling Summit, will provie recycling and sustainability professionals access to revolutionary equipment, reliable supplies and innovations for the processors and brand owners seeking sustainable solutions for their business. In addition to the keynote, the three-day summit will feature five other educational sessions that will provide practical steps companies can take to achieve their recycling and sustainability goals.
