NPE 2021, originally scheduled for May in Orlando, Florida has been cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Adsale Plastics Network learned from exhibitors that the organizer will not refund the first 50% of exhibitor deposits.

As with all events of this size and scope, there are significant ongoing expenses that the Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) incurs to make NPE 2021 a success, the organizer told exhibitors in an email.

“Specifically, the first 50 percent of exhibitor deposits have been invested in the myriad expenses required in the advance planning stages of the show, as well as to support ongoing operations for PLASTICS, and therefore cannot be returned,” said the organizer.

NPE 2021 has been cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

For those exhibitors that have paid the full amount of their exhibit contract fee, the organizer is offering to return any fees paid in excess of the first 50% deposit. Optionally, exhibitors may apply these fees to PLASTICS Member dues and/or NPE 2024.

Meanwhile, after evaluating all the factors and commitments in staging a virtual event, the member-run NPE Sales & Marketing and Executive Committees and the Officers of the PLASTICS Board of Directors decided not to pursue a virtual show in 2021. Nevertheless, feasible options for an industry event will continue to be explored.
