Source:Adsale Plastics Network    Editor:JK    Date:21.Oct.2021

Teijin Limited announced that it will upwardly revise the prices of its Panlite polycarbonate (PC) resin and Multilon PC/acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) phosphorus flame retardant grades beginning with shipments from November 1.

Teijin to upwardly revise Polycarbonate resin prices.

New price

Panlite phosphorus flame retardant grades

JPY 10 per kg or above (Japan)

USD 100 per ton or above (global)

Multilon phosphorus flame retardant   grades

JPY 30 per kg or above (Japan)

USD 300 per ton or above (global)

Raw material for phosphorus flame retardant, which is an auxiliary material for flame-retardant products, has been greatly affected due to nationwide electric power restriction measures in China caused by urgent electric power shortage in China and such crude raw material production has been drastically reduced.

Under these circumstances, the supply of such flame retardants is extremely tight, and the price is skyrocketing. Also, the price of bisphenol A, the main raw material used to produce polycarbonate resin, has risen due to tight supply and demand. Such factors have impacted profitability, Teijin thus to upwardly revise the prices of its products to endeavor to provide a stable supply.
