In the recent years, Chinese companies have been actively looking for growth overseas, in markets from Latin America, Europe to Southeast Asia. The article shares how some of these companies are venturing into global markets to increase their customer base, revenue, and brand awareness.

Haitian expands production network in Latin America and Europe

In June this year, Haitian International inaugurated its state-of-the-art injection molding machines manufacturing facility in Mexico’s Centro Logistico Jalisco. With a total investment of around US$50 million, Haitian is setting a further milestone in its growth strategy.

The strategic importance of this manufacturing facility in Jalisco is high as it will serve as both a regional headquarters and a production center for the entire Americas region.

The investment of Haitian’s new plant at Mexico reached US$50 million.

The area of the new site covers a total of 92,000 m² for manufacturing, sales and administration. Around 27,000 m² is production space with functions such as metalworking, assembly, application and service center, and customer service. The remaining area is reserved for strategic developments.

To date, more than 100 machines have been produced and delivered to regional customers after trial operation.

Meanwhile, Haitian is expanding its production and logistics network in Europe and investing around EUR 100 million in the construction of a modern plan with a total area of 250,000m² at its site in Ruma, Serbia. The plant is scheduled to go into operation in the first quarter of 2025.

As said, the construction of the production base in Ruma will enable the company to efficiently serve the European market, closely link the markets in Eastern Europe and the Middle East, and continuously improve local delivery and supply capacity.

YIZUMI moves forward with newly operated Indian factory

India is one of the most important overseas market for YIZUMI and the company is expanding its presence in the market to achieve its global strategic objectives. In October 2022, YIZUMI’s new India factory was officially put into operation in the GIDC Industrial Park in Gujarat.

The total floor area of the factory exceeds 80,000m². The completed Phase I factory covers an area of 20,000 m² and is used for manufacturing SKII and A5 series three-platen servo hydraulic injection molding machines, DP/D1 series large two-platen injection molding machines, and PAC series high-speed packaging machines for Indian market. It has an annual output capacity of 2,000 units of injection molding machines with a maximum clamping force of 4,000T.

Upon the completion of Phase II, the factory will be able to meet an annual output demand of Rs. 10 billion.

In addition to India, YIZUMI is also increasing its footprint in the Italian market. In June this year, PPI, the Italian agent of YIZUMI, opened of its new office in San Vendemiano, Italy, providing customers with FF series electric and multi-component injection molding machines among other popular solutions.

Jwell sets up its first overseas production base in Thailand

BKWELL Intelligent Equipment (Thailand) Co., Ltd., the Thailand subsidiary of Jwell Machinery Co., Ltd., constructed a new plant in Rayong Province, Thailand in August last year.

As the first overseas production base of Jwell Machinery, BKWELL not only focuses on the R&D of high-end plastic extrusion molding machines and the training of overseas teams, but also plays a significant role in helping the parent company build an intelligent global ecological chain in the field of extrusion machines.

Thanks to localized services and a shortened response time, Jwell Machinery aims to further develop the Thai market, expand into the Southeast Asian market, and accelerate its pace of entering the international market.

Since 2004, JWELL has been selling screws and extruders in Thailand while BKWELL opened its office in Bangkok, Thailand back in 2019 to support the local market.

After the establishment of the Thailand subsidiary, the company can enhance its market analysis by expanding the base of customers, suppliers, and media.

Tederic strengthens presence in Germany with new R&D center

To support diverse research projects overseas, Chinese intelligent injection molding solution provider Tederic Machinery set up an R&D center in Munich, Germany last year.

The company established a strong team for the center, focusing on innovative technology research and development in the field of injection molding - with an effort to drive Tederic business in the international market.

As stated, the Hangzhou, Zhejiang province-based manufacturer will base itself on the headquarters in China, while further realizing localized manufacturing in Europe and North America going forward.

Intco launches recycling project in Malaysia

In April 2022, Chinese plastics recycler Intco Recycling announced its plan to invest RMB 800 million to construct a new plant in Malaysia.

Intco’s Malaysian subsidiary has acquired land with a total area of about 52.699 acres in Kuala Langat, western Malaysia, on which it plans to erect a waste plastics processing facility with a capacity of 100,000 tons per year. The construction is expected to be completed in three years’ time.

Three different types of waste plastics - PET, PP, and PE - that are collected from its global recycling network will be used to produce plastic bottles at the new plant.

High-purity sorting, bottle-to-bottle cleaning, high-performance impurity removal and other technologies are used to produce r-PET fiber-grade and bottle-grade granules, r-PET flakes, and various thermoformed products. All these products are extensively used in the food-grade plastic packaging, textile, and automobile industries.

Intco Recycling plans to build a new plant in Malaysia.

As of present, Itco Recycling has an annual capacity to recycle 100,000 tons of EPS foam, and 50,000 tons of PET bottles to food-grade PET plastics, which can help reduce carbon emissions by 300,000 tons per year.

The company also planned to increase its recycling of waste PS to 300,000 tons and waste PET to one million tons per year, and expand the business with other forms of materials.

Jiahua Chemicals plans new facility in first Mexico investment

Jiahua Chemicals is among the Chinese players who aces the process of global expansion. In June, it announced an investment of US$20 million for the construction of a new plant in Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila in Mexico.

With an eye to supply the automotive industry market in the country, this facility is expected to begin operations in early 2024. It will enable the manufacture and supply of PU inputs for the growing demand of the domestic automotive industry.

Jiahua Chemicals annually produces 1.6 million tons of polyurethane raw materials and has eight plants and two distribution centers in Asia and Europe, focused on research and development of bio-based products, carbon-negative products and rigid biofoams for the automotive industry.

Jiahua Chemicals' presence in Mexico underscores the country's importance as one of the world's leading polyurethane markets. Mexico currently ranks fourth in the PU market, after China, the United States and Germany.

With the new plant, the company aims to strengthen its position in the Mexican market and meet the growing demand in the country.

This investment represents a significant step for the chemical manufacturer and will contribute to the continued momentum of the industrial sector in Mexico.
