The 2020 Taipei International Plastics & Rubber Industry Show (Taipei PLAS) and the concurrent Taipei International Shoe Making Technology Show (ShoeTech Taipei), originally scheduled to be held from September 9-13 at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, have been postponed.

Under the circumstances of global business being impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, the organizers decided to postpone the two export-oriented shows after comprehensive consideration. The new dates are yet to be announced.

The core themes of Taipei PLAS for this year are “Smart Manufacturing”, “Industry 4.0”, and “Circular Economy”. The organizers have set up four special zones which are “Plastics & Rubber Processing Machines”, “Automation & Robot and 3D Printing”, “Machines and Equipment for Recycling”, and “Overseas Products Area”.

Four special zones are set up for Taipei PLAS this year.

Leading exhibitors will showcase a wide array of products and solutions, including injection molding machines, blow molding machines, packaging machines, printing machinery, molds, plastic and rubber raw materials, etc.

For ShoeTech Taipei, not only highly efficient automated shoemaking machinery and equipment will be on stage, but also shoe materials and accessories to provide more diversified purchasing options.

In order to help visitors understand the latest market trends, peripheral activities such as summit forums and technical seminars will be held during the shows.

The exhibitions are both co-organized by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and the Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (TAMI). TAITRA will mobilize its overseas branch offices to invite international buyers to visit the shows, in which one-on-one procurement meetings will also be arranged.

The machinery and equipment industry has become an important sector in Taiwan region with complete and competitive supply chains. Based on the statistics of TAMI, the annual output and export value of Taiwan machinery amounted to NT$1.1 trillion and US$28 billion or more in each of the past three years.
