More than 10 sessions related to the theme of eco-friendly solutions for plastics were held at Tech Talk forum yesterday, with leading suppliers introducing their innovative sustainable materials and technologies.

At the forum, both Amcor and HP discussed their latest applications that address the challenges of green packaging. Recycled materials have been gaining wider applications in all walks of life. To help industry players to seize the market opportunities, Ningbo Topcentral New Material Co., Ltd. talked about the potential of the company’s innovative traceable and functional solutions in a variety of post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials applications.

Two other leading material suppliers also introduced their developments in sustainability. Wanhua Chemical shared its advanced TPU solutions for PPF, and Dow introduced its eco-friendly high performance foam materials.

In view of bioresins becoming an increasingly popular alternative to conventional fossil-based plastics, which poses challenges to molders, Husky Technologies discussed the design and technical considerations when optimizing hot runner systems for bioresin injection molding applications.

Today, the Tech Talk forum in the morning focuses on medical plastics and antimicrobial solution. In the afternoon, suppliers share their latest technologies in lightweight applications.

SciXplore Forum and Applications in Focus kick off today

It is noteworthy that the SciXplore Forum and Applications in Focus concurrent events kick off today. 

Following the success of the last edition, SciXplore Forum returns to Shenzhen with strong lineup. Six professors and academicians, who come from Chinese Academy of Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Canadian Academy of Engineering, Sichuan University, and University of Science and Technology of China, deliver their keynote speeches on applications of high performance polymers.

The topics they share include the technological development of low-carbon and natural polymer materials, industrial innovation of high-end polymers, among others.
