SACMI offers in-cloud IoT services for proactive machine maintenance

Source:Adsale Plastics Network Date :2023-05-19 Editor :JK

Smart Care is a cloud-based SACMI platform that meticulously monitors machine and plant "health". The company developed it to help customers optimize plant control and maintenance, thanks also to new assistance services and proactive problem-solving.

Smart Care runs continuous, in-depth medium-long term health checks on machines. By exploiting AI to analyze huge quantities of data collected in the cloud, Smart Care objectifies the true value of information, doing so by producing dedicated KPIs that artificial intelligence then uses to predict the tasks needed to maintain optimal production.

SACMI stated that with Smart Care, users can decide how to run the machines, when and how to intervene. All based on the analysis of real parameters, derived from the immense quantities of machine-fed data processed by SACMI's servers.

More specifically, these parameters can include KPIs such as plant availability and MTBF (mean time between failure), that is, a statistical analysis of the time between two failures and therefore a fundamental indicator of expected reliability.

SACMI provides Smart Care cloud-based platform to help customers optimize plant control and proactive maintenance.

The platform can also provide statistical reports on shutdown causes by analyzing all machine-generated alarms and on mean time to repair (MTTR), another crucial index for measuring expected availability in relation to production requirements. Users can also keep other process variables under control, analyzing them either individually or in aggregate form according to relevant criteria.

SACMI Smart Care is designed to be available anywhere, regardless of distance. Being able to virtualize assistance completes and optimizes the on-site services that SACMI delivers via its worldwide network of branches.

Smart Care however, seeks to go even further by predicting problems before they can actually occur. SACMI emphasizes that the key to this is the immense quantity of data provided by machines and processes. However, to aid decision-making, that data needs to be translated into meaningful information.

One of Smart Care’s key advantages is that it saves time and money by accurately quantifying the frequency and cost of maintenance in advance. Together with other SACMI services, such as interconnection with the HERE supervisor and Smart Pack digital controls, this keeps production downtimes to a minimum.

With Smart Care, customers have access to meaningful, objective information that lets them detect process drifts or component malfunction in advance. This makes predictive analysis possible, all thanks to dedicated algorithms that draw on SACMI's experience of daily machine/plant management.

The result is an opportunity to plan maintenance better and simultaneously reduce the costs that stem from unexpected stops or the incomplete /incorrect interpretation of data that can occur when analysis is entrusted solely to an individual operator’s experience.

The company believes that data is a valuable asset for customers. That’s why it has built Smart Care with the world’s leading in-cloud architects in compliance with the most advanced security and confidentiality standards.

A distributed architecture ensures service is unrestricted by the geographical location of customer and assistance: data is always available and can include process info, warnings, alarms and performance indicators (consumption, availability, etc.), all in synergy with HERE Supervisor processing power.

SACMI added that the Smart Care platform can be accessed via any authenticated device on the corporate network, maximizing data portability and security. Premium services include automatic notifications of any advance detection of drifts.
