Repsol launches first range of 100% circular EVA copolymers

Repsol has launched the first 100% circular solution of ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) copolymers in the market.

Repsol is the pioneer in placing 100% circular solution of EVA copolymers in the market.

Marketed under Reciclex brand, the new solution complements the company’s conventional EVA range and is certified under the ISCC Plus mass balance approach.

Raw material used to produce the 100% circular EVA are derived from various waste streams that undergo specific chemical recycling processes, which helps eliminate the need for disposal in landfills and incineration plants.

This chemical recycling solution is especially relevant for EVA applications that cannot use mechanical recycling due to the properties required by the final product. The new range ensures the suitability of products for sensitive applications, such as food contact products, cosmetics, or in the healthcare sector.

Repsol’s industrial complex in Puertollano has dedicated in developing, testing and producing this new range solution. Such initiative supports the company’s commitment to achieve net zero emissions by 2050 and its goal of recycling the equivalent of 20% of its polyolefin production in 2030.
