Tekni-Plex featuring latest medical device compounds, tubing and packaging solutions at CMEF Shanghai

Source:Source: CPRJ Editorial Team Date :2017-04-20 Editor :(JEN)

The latest medical tubing and compounds, as well as flexible packaging materials for medical device applications, will be featured by Tekni-Plex business units at CMEF Spring 2017, taking place from May 15-18 in Shanghai, China.

Its Natvar business unit will be discussing its full line of tubing solutions including its newly-launched micro-bore alternative for neurovascular interventional therapies and surgical applications. The new micro-tubing capability supports the growing need for highly-engineered materials, including tight tolerance micro-extrusions, for use in emerging procedures.

The company also is now making its silicone extrusion tubing available globally. Silicone extrusions are typically used for catheters, feeding tubes, drug delivery and peristaltic pump applications.

At CMEF, Tekni-Plex's Colorite business unit will be featuring its Cellene thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) compounds which are suitable for a wide variety of medical devices, as well as packaging and other regulated markets. Cellene compounds are formulated to be silicone, latex, phthalate, halogen and polyvinyl chloride (PVC)-free using US Food & Drug Administration (FDA)-compliant raw materials to meet USP Class VI and ISO 10993 standards.

Tekni-Films will be discussing its copolyester film series with grades that provide a cost effective alternative to glycol-modified polyethylene terephthalate (PETG) for thermoformed medical tray packaging. It also will be displaying a wide variety of other multilayer packaging structures that deliver the stringent oxygen and water vapor barrier properties necessary to protect medical device products.
