Coveris' mono-material packaging solution receives Horners Bottlemaker Awards

Coveris has been recognized with Horners Bottlemaker Awards 2022 for its mono-material packaging innovation, MonoFlexBE. A first-of-its-kind, fully recyclable barrier monolaminate, MonoFlexBE grated cheese pouches are significant development for UK retail cheese category.

 

The launch has enabled retailers to switch to a fully recyclable packaging material, maintain shelf-life requirements and where possible, achieve pack weight savings, aligned with Coveris’ sustainability vision No Waste.

At the time of the award announcement, Coveris’ MonoFlexBE grated cheese pouches were launched in Tesco, Iceland and Sainsbury’s, and now extended to a two further retailers.

 

Coveris was formally presented with its award at the Horners Annual Banquet at The Mansion House, London on Wednesday 5 October 2022. The Horners Bottlemakers Award, jointly run by the British Plastics Federation and the Worshipful Company of Horners.

 

Alex Burgess, Technical Sales Manager, commented, “We’re incredibly proud Coveris’ MonoFlexBE pouches have been awarded the Horners Bottlemakers prize. Achieving major sustainability benefits for the UK retail cheese category, our MonoFlexBE pouches have enabled retailers to switch to recyclable packaging and maintain extended shelf-life, supporting our vision for no packaging or product waste.”
