KraussMaffei receives the "Plastics Award" of the automotive industry

Plastics machinery manufacturer KraussMaffei was awarded first place in the category of Media and Publications at the 2012 SPE Automotive Division Awards.

The "Internationale Gesellschaft für Kunststofftechnik e.V. / Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE)", which presents the award every 18 months, recognized the product brochure titled "Fiber composite solutions - for high-tech lightweight components".

According to KraussMaffei , the jury based its decision on the fact that the company’s exemplary presentation of its uniquely broad spectrum of expertise in the automated production of fiber composite lightweight components according to customer specifications for component design and volume. The brochure, said the jury, not only provides a well-structured overview of the various types of technology but also illustrates the production processes and the applications of fiber composites through the use of graphics and images. In the opinion of the jurors, the bold idea of keeping one's own products and machines in the background while focusing attention on components and know-how works very well in this medium.

In addition to the use of fiber composites in the automotive sector, the medium also focuses on the areas of boat construction, utility vehicles, agricultural machinery, rail transport, logistics, aircraft construction, wind power and the production of sports equipment. All cross-technology stages in the process of manufacturing fiber reinforced plastics are explained by product illustrations, allowing customers from any branch of industry to see at a glance the range of services along the entire value-adding chain of KraussMaffei.
