SCG Chemicals introduces barrier coating technology for mono-material packaging

SCG Chemicals has recently launched its first innovative barrier coating technology for mono-material packaging, enabling flexible packaging such as frozen and chilled food packaging, dry food packaging and refill pouch packaging to be recyclable.

The conventional flexible packaging is made from multi-material, making it difficult to be recycled. The solution intends to address plastic packaging issues by facilitating the transition from multi-material plastic packaging to mono-material plastic packaging. This approach will increase recycling efficiency while maintaining the product's qualities.

SCGC’s innovative barrier coating technology is the first of its kind in ASEAN to be RecyClass certified and is ready to serve the growing demand for green packaging.

Additionally, SCGC’s innovative barrier coating technology, certified by RecyClass, is a solution that will offer the flexible packaging manufacturer a more efficient recyclable mono-material plastic packaging in replacement of conventional multi-material packaging while maintaining the quality performance.
