Both SPEEDFOMER models are equipped with tools designed for processing sustainable materials. Furthermore, new solutions for the appliance industry - also engineered in Germany and made in China - will be shown.

In a live demonstration, visitors can experience the performance capabilities of the SPEEDFORMER KMD 78 Smart. It is engineered for the efficient production of food and non-food plastics packaging, made from PET, PP, PLA, PS, PE or recycled plastics.

The machine combines German technology with local manufacturing and technical support in China, 100% made by Kiefel. All Kiefel engineering standards and quality processes are applied in China as well.

An additional advantage of the SPEEDFORMER KMD 78 Smart is that the machines can be placed opposite each other as mirrored pairs for savings of space and scarce manpower, as they can be operated simultaneously.

Future-proof tooling for sustainable materials

Additionally, Kiefel will present and complement its machine's technical port-folio with high quality Asian-made tools, supporting Kiefel's BFS technology, allowing forming and cutting within a single station, and CPLA material processing competency for take-away applications in particular.

PLA is bio-based plastic which can be industrially composted. Pure PLA material has similar physical properties to PET. But, with regard to traditional Chinese catering habits of taking out hot meals and drinks, PLA’s high-temperature limitations must be addressed. Therefore, CPLA (crystallized / converted PLA) capable of withstanding up to 110°C, is in demand in China.

Kiefel is also underlining its presence in China with its new machine solutions for the appliance industry. From now on, Kiefel is building SHARPFORMER KID 1.250 Smart machines in China.

The SHARPFORMER KID 1.250 Smart, a thermoforming machine for high quality inner-liners and door-liners for refrigerators, will be produced in Suzhou, China.

This Inline Thermoforming Machine for the flexible production of HIPS and ABS refrigerator inner-liners and door-liners utilizes vacuum-pressure forming technology for more demanding shapes and higher production speeds. The KID 1.250 Smart can produce side-by-side products with one mold.

Following Kiefel’s strategy dedicated to the Chinese market, the KID 1.250 Smart is also engineered in Germany and assembled in China, Suzhou. Chinese and Asian customers in particular therefore benefit from shorter delivery times, even faster spare parts availability, as well as competent and swift local support from the Kiefel team in China.
