Chinese battery separator film producer uses Brückner’s lines

Source:Adsale Plastics Network Date :2022-03-08 Editor :JK

Shenzhen Senior Technology Material, a leading company in China’s battery separator film industry and a strategic supplier to the world’s top 10 lithium-ion battery manufacturers, decides to be as close as possible to its European customers and business partners.

Their Düsseldorf office, opened in 2018, was a first step in this direction. Now, this Chinese company has opened its first factory for battery separator film production in Europe, located at Eskilstuna, Sweden.

"Many European countries have announced to convert from combustion engines to electric vehicles over the next years. We want to seize the opportunity and the factory in Sweden is an important milestone to serving all our EU partners," said Kevin Zhu, Senior’s European Representative.

Shenzhen Senior Technology Material expands its production plant in Sweden with Brückner Maschinenbau's high-performance separator films lines.

The large-scale manufacturing plant will be equipped with high-automated production lines of both, wet process base film and coating. In harmony with Senior’s far-reaching environmental commitments, the factory's energy supply is based entirely on CO2-neutral hydropower. Also, the location near Sweden’s capital Stockholm has the logistical advantage of transport connections and short distances.

Senior and Brückner Maschinenbau are cooperation partners in the field of battery separator film production since many years. Senior is already running a large number of Brückner lines, including powerful battery separator lines. 8 of these lines are located in one of the most sophisticated factories in China, Changzhou.

On some of them the films which will be coated in Eskilstuna in the future have been produced. Further Brückner lines for battery separator film production at the new Eskilstuna location have already been ordered for the planned expansion of the plant.

Reinhard Priller, Sales Director Brückner Maschinenbau, stated, "We are sure that Senior’s current investment in Sweden will guarantee them a major role in Europe’s future electric vehicle revolution. We are really proud of our long-lasting partnership with such a far-sighted player and we are looking forward to new exciting projects – of course also for Senior’s European site."
