DuPont, the global science-based products and services company, has named BC Chong as vice president and general manager – DuPont Automotive OEM Coatings, succeeding Marty M. McQuade who plans to retire later this year following 31 years of service.

William F. Weber, currently global business director – Ethylene Copolymers in Packaging & Industrial Polymers, will succeed Chong as vice president and general manager – DuPont Packaging & Industrial Polymers. Both Chong's and Weber's positions take effect on July 1.

In 2009, Chong, 46, will relocate to Shanghai – a move that will further strengthen the business' market position in Asia Pacific where a significant part of the automotive industry's future growth is expected to be generated.

DuPont also operates OEM Coatings business centers in the Europe and the Americas regions. Since joining DuPont in 1989 in Singapore, Chong has held a variety of business leadership roles in strategic planning, marketing and operations in Asia Pacific and the United States.
