Innovia films has developed a uniquely engineered cavitated BOPP base film, Rayoface QBD, for pressure sensitive labeling (PSL) applications. The film is available in 60 micron (2.4 mil) and 65 micron (2.6 mil) and is corona treated on one side.

QBD will service different market segments such as Household and Personal Care, Food and Beverage, and other consumer packaged goods sectors. This development also completes the range of films for all major label applications, cut and stack, roll fed wrap around, shrink and in-mold.

Low density, high yield films manufactured with less sophisticated technology often require a compromise when it comes to whiteness, opacity and stiffness. The 5-layer technology of the Innovia Films Zacapu line, results in high performance base films that still give economics and yield.

With opacity of 86%, QBD is better than some solid white label films. In addition, QBD has been engineered to be FDA approved for food contact label applications and has very good compatibility with PSL adhesives and printing inks.

QBD is manufactured and shipped from a Zacapu, Mexico plant of the company in rolls of over 12,500 meters to help reduce changeover time and increase efficiencies.
