Pyrowave introduced its revolutionary Nanopurification Technology that operates at the molecular level to chemically remove contaminants from polymers with outstanding control on purified resins.

The innovative Nanopurification Technology enables higher purity level of recycled resins.

Addressing the major problem

One of the limiting factors in plastic recycling is the difficulty in securing feedstock compatible with level of purity required in end applications. The hazardous chemicals present in plastics, including additives and contaminants, cause major concerns to human health and the environment.

Pyrowave’s innovative solution specifically addresses this challenge and potentially expands the range of recyclable plastics, including plastics with various additives and contaminants, such as heavy metals, inorganic pigments, halogens and flame retardants.

How Nanopurification works?

Pyrowave’s Nanopurification methodology is inspired from pharmaceutical purification technologies. Using the most advanced nanofiltration membrances, the revolutionary technology tables on the large difference in size and solubility to separate additives from polymers.

Unlike conventional dissolution methods that solely reliant on solubility, the new solution enables simultaneous removal of various contaminants, all while maintaining meticulous control over the endpoint.

As a result, the process is simpler, tailored to clients’ specification, more energy efficient and economical.

This innovation can be used as a stand-alone to purify various plastic waste feedstocks or as a pre-treatment upstream of its microwave depolymerization process.

Bringing a greener future

Powered by electricity, Pyrowave’s new technology is low-carbon with approximately 95% greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduced compared to virgin production of resins. It also produces 100% traceable resins.

The solution enables higher recycling rates, less harmful substances in the environment and less GHG emissions than needed to produce virgin plastics.

Pyrowave has successfully demonstrated the patent-pending technology by decontaminating polymers and supplying high-quality recycled plastics to industries that require strict compliance, including food-contact applications.
