More freedom in automotive design: LyondellBasell’s new translucent PP compounds

LyondellBasell introduced a new range of translucent polypropylene (PP) compounds, with the brand names Hifax and Hostacom, offering an innovative platform for automotive design and creativity.

Translucent PP compounds opens more freedom for automotive design.

 

Translucent plastics pave the way for more personalized automotive design and captivating light effects. Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in electric vehicle (EV) sector eagerly seek eye-catching light effects that reshape automotive design.

 

The new Hifax and Hostacom translucent grades surmount challenges such as yellowing and low rigidity. It also features exceptional visual effects, UV resistance and remarkable durability.

 

The materials are also mono-material solutions, which seamlessly integrate with standard automotive paint and contribute to environment.

 

Both translucent compounds fit for crafting captivating light displays within vehicle interiors and creating striking exterior aesthetics.
