Nov 9, 2023

Berry Global developed a lightweight tube closure solution that delivers new lightweight and low-profile design while help achieve sustainability target through minimizing the use of virgin plastic.

The new closure can be manufactured in virgin polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) or with food-safe post-consumer recycled plastic (rPE and rPP) from CleanStream, Berry’s internal, closed-loop recycling process. These options offer mono-material packaging for easy recycling.

Added into the Slimline portfolio, the closures are available in 35mm and 50mm diameters, each in matt and glossy surface finishes, and with 3mm and 5mm orifices.

Features also include wide opening angle, comfortable finger recess, and active hinge for easy opening ensure maximum consumer convenience.

The new Slimline design fits a wide variety of personal care and pharmaceutical applications, such as skin care, body wash and hair care, and it is compatible with the new generation of flat tube shoulders.

Steffen Kacan, Regional Sales Director of Personal Care, commented that the new Slimline range offered an economically attractive solution whilst also supporting customers to achieve, or even exceed, their sustainability targets.

To provide the flexibility to meet changing market demands and customer requirements, Berry has developed an advanced and agile production cell. The new lightweight tube closures will be available for production in early 2024.
