Arkema increased its global manufacturing capacity for Pebax elastomers by 40% at its Serquigny plant in France.

The specialty material manufacturer successfully started its new Pebax elastomer unit at the Serquigny plant. Designed with the latest advancements in industrial processes, the new unit can produce both bio-circular Pebax Rnew and classical Pebax elastomer ranges.

 

Erwoan Pezron, Senior Vice President of High Performance Polymers Business Line, added that the site improves production process and reduces water consumption by about 25% at the same time.

 

These advanced materials are used extensively in sports equipment such as running shoes, soccer shoes and ski boots. They are also applied in electronic devices and other specialty markets such as antistatic additives and medical devices.
