Nordson foresees continued focus on sustainability, efficiency and safety
Nordson Corporation – Polymer Processing Systems, the polymer processing solution expert, holds optimistic view towards the future of the plastics industry and said to be well positioned for a solid year 2024.
The company foresees a continued focus on sustainability, efficiency and safety, expecting these factors to continue to shape the future of the plastics industry as companies search to automate their processes and expand their business to meet consumer demands.
In response to such market trend, Nordson brings its strong performing technologies for the polymerization and cast film sectors to CHINAPLAS 2024.
Newest melt filtration system for blown film applications
The continuously working backflush screen changer BKG HiCon K-SWE-HD/RS showcased at Nordson’s booth is the company’s newest melt filtration system specifically designed for blown film applications. It enables the processing of high contaminated recycled material, while ensuring constant pressure conditions.
The system’s melt pressure-controlled venting start and backflush functions require far less screen changes and line shutdowns, thus prolonging production cycles and delivering optimal blown film performance and quality, explains Edward Luo, Senior Sales Director – APAC.

Another exhibit from the BKG melt delivery and pelletizing business is a continuous melt filter (screen changer) which fits for processing high throughputs of polyolefins and other temperature stable polymers, such as ABS, PS and SAN.
The filter provides increased extruder and reactor uptime by offering processors a smooth, continuous operation with an extremely clean melt.
Cast film die with automatic lip adjustment system
To improve production efficiency while creating a safer work environment at the same time, Nordson’s extrusion die systems business recently introduced the Prodigi motorized lip actuator system.

The system enables flat film and sheet processors to quickly achieve saving product tolerances, even after a shutdown, all while controlling their die from a remote position, according to Jason Yin, Sales Director, PPS Greater China.
“We are seeing more processors looking for a solution to improve their efficiency while simultaneously creating a safer work environment,” says Yin.

Nordson presents a cast film die with an automatic lip adjustment system at the booth. In each process, the die’s flow channel is carefully designed for each polymer being processed, ensuring the desired characteristics are evenly distributed throughout the final product.
Yin states that the cast extrusion die support a variety of applications, including barrier film, battery, breathable films, CPP films and more.
