Kuncai Technology: Technological innovation boosts material utilization
Although the global economy has faced challenges in recent years, demand for plastics from core application sectors, including packaging, automotive, electronics, construction, infrastructure and medical, remains strong.
Kern Wang, Marketing Director from Fujian Material Technology Co., Ltd., believes that sustainability and circular economy will continue to be the hot topic for the plastics industry.
"In recent years, development on bioplastic and renewable plastic reduces the dependency on fossil-based raw materials, fulfilling customers' demand for more environmentally friendly alternatives,§ says Wang.
Advanced recycling technology, including chemical recycling and pyrolysis process, transforms plastic waste into raw material or material with higher value, he states.
"This closes the loop and reduces demand for virgin plastic production. Governments and regulatory authorities will continue to implement policies on reducing plastic waste and facilitate recycling and re-use, promoting innovation in green material and circular economy."

Importance of technological innovation and stable supply
To promote sustainability and circular economy in plastics economy, innovation in technology and material is pivotal. Developments in bio-degradable plastic, bio-based polymer and nanocomposite bring breakthroughs and new applications in various industries. These technological innovations create more opportunities for the plastics industry.
"Market preference towards sustainability can be traced back to the whole industrial chain. Such preference poses more requirements and challenges to upstream raw material suppliers," says Wang.
Kuncai Technology achieves circularity of renewable energy using clean energy, photovoltaic and nuclear waste heat. By-products can be reused during the production of TiOEX titanium dioxide, and the paper packaging allows plastic-free recycling, reducing waste pollution, explains Wang.
"People usually link plastics and chemical engineering with pollution. However, the true reason for environmental leakage is plastic waste. Through technological innovation, plastic material can be fully utilized, facilitating long-term development of the plastics industry," he adds.
"In addition, stability of supply chain affects the competitiveness of a company. The plastics industry is sensible to the fluctuation of raw material cost, especially for fossil ones."
Future development of the energy market, including transformation to renewable energy and the tense geopolitics which affects fossil production, may disturb the cost structure of plastics industry, encourages innovation in alternative materials and production process.
Meanwhile, AI production technologies, such as automation, robots and big data, will continue to boost efficiency, productivity and product quality of the plastics industry.
High-performing titanium white reduces cost and waste
At its booth, Kuncai Technology presents TiOEX 8 series - a high-performing titanium dioxide for plastics applications.
According to Wang, the TiOEX 8 series titanium dioxide is produced using world's first HCI extraction process that does not have high requirements for raw materials. The main products are of high purity, and the by-products can be utilized. The energy consumption of the production process is low and no solid waste is generated.

TiOEX 8 series titanium dioxide products are characterized by high purity.
The products are coated with inorganic material and finished with an organic surface treatment. They are suitable for a wide range of applications, such as medium and high-quality plastic masterbatches, plastic floor adhesives, PVC, pipes, rubber products, injection molding and compression molding materials, various plastics for industrial use, as well as polyvinyl chloride, polystyrene, polyolefin, and engineering plastics.
"Kuncai Technology is dedicated to mature extraction technology and complete supply chain management to avoid supply chain risk. Our plant is equipped with clean and green automated production line and digitalized central control center. Smart factory with IoT sensor and AI system can monitor and optimize production at real time, enhancing flexibility and ability to customize," emphasizes Wang.
It is Kuncai's first time to be an exhibitor at CHINAPLAS and officially launch the TiOEX 8 series for the plastics industry. Wang hopes to have more information exchange with industry experts, receive, share as well as integrate market information and industry news in multi-areas, facilitating the growth of the plastic industry.
