On the second day of CHINAPLAS, the World Trends & Plastics & Rubber Technology Summit continued to serve as a beacon of knowledge and inspiration for industry professionals navigating the complexities of the plastics industry. 


Top-notch machinery and polymer leaders, including ARBURG, KUKA, Borch, SABIC, Covestro, Wanhua Chemical, SYENSQO, etc., introduced their novel technology solutions during sessions focused on "Digitalization for Industrial Transformation and Sustainability" and "Innovative Technology for Green Energy". These key themes underscored the imperative for leveraging technology and innovation to drive sustainability and transformation across industries.


Day 2 commenced with a compelling presentation by Werner Faulhaber, Director Research & Development at ARBURG. As energy efficiency is becoming increasingly crucial in the industrial sector, he delved into an integrated approach to minimize energy consumption in injection molding.


Jiang Yifan, Senior Vision Algorithm Engineer, KUKA Robotics China Co., Ltd., shared how machine vision and AI advancements help KUKA to drive robot application development. He also illustrated the prospects of AI and large model technology applications.


Jack Chain, Director of R&D Department, Borch Machinery Co., Ltd., revealed how digital platform empowers enterprises to upgrade and transform with real-world customer success stories.


Following the keynote address, the presenters convened to discuss the impact of digital transformation on manufacturing processes in the plastics and rubber industries. Through dynamic exchanges, panelists explored the integration of technologies such as AI, IoT, and automation in enhancing efficiency and promoting sustainability. 


During the afternoon sessions, the summit probed into the latest technologies powering the transition towards green energy, with a particular focus on the role of plastics and rubber in renewable energy applications. 


Presentations demonstrated advancements in materials science, including advanced polymers and composites engineered for wind turbines and energy storage systems. These innovative materials offer enhanced durability, efficiency, and eco-friendliness, driving the proliferation of sustainable energy solutions.


Jim Wang, Global Specialty Nylon Sales Director, Wanhua Chemical, introduced the company*s advanced material solutions which support clean energy industry.


In the meantime, Diana Ren, Marketing Manager, Engineering Plastics Business Entity, Covestro (Shanghai) Investment Co., Ltd., demonstrated how the company's diversified solutions work efficiently for the photovoltaic and energy storage industries.


John Hu, Key Account Manager, Green Hydrogen Platform, SYENSQO, shed lights on the key role of hydrogen in the future of decarbonized energy production and use. He also shared how low-carbon hydrogen helps to reach energy policy objectives in the long term.

Anticipating Day 3: Innovative technology for electric vehicles
