LIANSU’s automation solution for inline hose coiling and packaging

In plastic hose manufacturing, automation is a key factor to improve the production efficiency and maintain product quality. Guangdong Liansu Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (LIANSU) has helped a customer in South America to increase production capacity and reduce labor cost with the fully automatic inline coiling and packaging solution.

 

Before upgrading, the customer used semi-automatic coiler. Discharging and packaging were done manually, and the hose coiling speed could not match with the extrusion line speed, resulting in reduced production efficiency.

 

The customer requires a wide range of wall thickness of hose: for very thick wall thickness of ф32 hose that exceeds 5mm, high tension control of automatic coiling and bundling is required; for very thin wall thickness that is only 2mm, it is necessary to ensure no coiling deformation, which has special requirements for coiling design and program control.

 

Basic on the standard automatic coiler, LlANSU offered a customized fully automatic coiler to meet the coiling requirements of “extra thick” and “extra thin” hoses, which is equipped with inline PP strapping automatic packaging and discharging functions.

 

The coiler adopts a full servo system and laser ranging closed-loop tension control, and the servo packaging head “arrow-through” PP strap packaging setup ensures that within the minimum coiling radius, the hoses are neatly arranged. The coiling speed reaches more than 50m/min, which greatly improves the customer's production capacity and reduces labor costs.

Automatic coiling improves efficiency and precision

 

According to LIANSU, double-station design can provide customers with two sets of coiling device working alternately, reducing the downtime of core replacement and improving production efficiency.

 

Besides, the coiler adopts closed-loop tension control to adapt different production speeds, and it is equipped with automatic hose clamping, cutting and roll changing devices to reduce manual operations.

Bundling and packaging ensure perfect product protection

 

The coiler uses an advanced servo motion control system to bundle pipes, and it automatically feeds and tightens the straps. In addition, the bundling unit uses PLC control, has an anti-slip function, and is equipped with a strap storage component to achieve intelligent and efficient bundling operation, facilitating hose storage and transportation.

 

After the PP strapping is completed, the heavy-duty robotic arm that can bear a maximum load of 60kg automatically unloads the bundled hoses to the ground.
