Thermoformer ILLIG to be acquired by German investor

ILLIG, a German supplier of thermoforming and packaging systems, succeeded in finding an investor for continuing business operations in the equity capitalization and restructuring process.

 

ILLIG states in the press release that it will successfully complete the process with the entry of an experienced German financial investor who focuses on medium-sized companies in complex situations.

 

According to news reports, the manufacturer will be acquired by Munich-based Orlando Capital GmbH, with cutting 200 employees as part of the deal.

The company’s entire product portfolio will be acquired, the ILLIG brand and the business will continue in all sales regions worldwide, says ILLIG. The purchase contract was signed but further conditions must be clarified before full ownership can be transferred. The closing is expected at the beginning of August this year.

 

With the entry of a financially strong investor, ILLIG will focus even more strongly on international growth and the further development of strategically important product areas and markets.

 

ILLIG will be unveiling a new system for processing dry natural fibers at the Fachpack trade fair in in September, demonstrating its commitment to supporting sustainable packaging.
