A visit to Tragot: Unveiling the evolution of China’s plastic packaging enterprises

Nov 5, 2024

Tragot is a plastic packaging company specializes in the design, development, and manufacturing of rigid plastic packaging. On October 25, the editor of Adsale Plastics Network (www.AdsaleCPRJ.com) attended the commissioning ceremony of Tragot (Jiaxing) Material Technology Co., Ltd. and the launch of Tragot’s R&D Center in the Jiaxing Economic Development Zone, Zhejiang Province.

The Jiaxing plant is Tragot's second factory in China, following the establishment of its first facility in the Guangzhou Economic Development Zone in 2006. Tragot (Jiaxing) Material Technology was founded in March 2019 with investment from Yongtai (Hong Kong) High-Tech Co., Ltd.

During the event, representatives from numerous leading FMCG brands, including McCormick, Mars, Mentholatum, Procter & Gamble, Nestlé, PepsiCo, Mondelēz, Infinitus, and Duracell, gathered in Jiaxing to witness this significant occasion.

Winning customers through consistent value creation

Phases I and II of the Jiaxing plant and the R&D Center have been fully completed, with Phase I already in production. During this time, Phase III of the Guangzhou plant was also completed and has begun production, achieving both automated manufacturing and intelligent management. The combined area of the plants in Guangzhou and Jiaxing now exceeds 100,000 square meters.

What has attracted so many leading FMCG brands to visit Tragot's Jiaxing plant?

Over the past seven to eight years, Tragot has upgraded and innovated its processes to design and produce two-color lids for McCormick, a global leader in spices. This collaboration has helped McCormick stand out in a crowded market and has achieved a near 100% product pass rate.

Tragot has partnered not only with McCormick but also with the global food giant Mars for many years. Recently, in line with sustainable development goals, Tragot has worked with Mars to reduce plastic usage while cutting costs through the application of green materials, becoming a supplier of rPET packaging for Mars in China. Additionally, Tragot supplies packaging for many innovative co-branded products.

Through its partnerships with McCormick and Mars, it is clear that Tragot's ability to consistently deliver value to its customers is a key reason for its success in winning their loyalty.
