CHINAPLAS 2025: Sorema offers a comprehensive portfolio for plastic recycling

At CHINAPLAS 2025 to be taking place in Shenzhen, China, Sorema will present its well-proven recycling technologies.


Founded in 1974 in Como, Italy, Sorema, division of Previero SRL, offers a comprehensive portfolio of recycling plant manufacturing processes, from material analysis to process optimisation and customised plant and site design. Sorema's services include design, manufacturing, commissioning, after-sales service, and long-term customer support.


Sorema recycling systems convert post-consumer PET bottles from landfills, sorting plants or deposit systems into high quality recycled rPET flakes. The resulting recycled PET, after extrusion and solidification (SSP), is FDA and EFSA approved for the food packaging industry, creating sustainable and circular solutions.


Sorema's BtoB PET line portfolio covers lines from 5,000 tons/year to over 70,000 tons/year. The company also offers innovative recycling systems to convert post-consumer PET trays into high quality recycled flakes suitable for thermoforming or fibre production.

The range of solutions also includes recycling systems for post-consumer HDPE/PP containers to produce high quality recycled flakes for common applications such as bottles, sheets and other extruded products. The high quality of Sorema's up-cycling technologies enables a high percentage of secondary raw material to be reintroduced into the customer's food contact packaging.


Today, Sorema's PET recycling lines can be found all over the world and its customers' products are adopted by major brand owners for reuse in food contact bottles. Advanced delabeler widely adopted in Asia


In Asia, one of the main challenges for recyclers is to obtain PET flakes with low PVC content without wasting good material and with less labour. Sorema has solved this problem with a combination of a pre-washing with a delabeler, which removes almost all the glued labels and part of the complete sleeves, integrated with a dry delabeler cycle.


Our customers in South East Asia and China have already trialled Sorema's advanced delabeler with excellent results and market acceptance, including getting their final FDA and EFSA approvals.
