KM Packaging, based in Ubstadt-Weiher (Baden-Württemberg, Germany), owns six sites in Germany, Austria, Poland and the US.
With the acquisition, ALPLA will manufacture high-quality closures for tubes, bottles and jars, including in clean rooms if desired, at the additional six sites, significantly increasing its capacity and product range.
“The smooth combination of close customer relationships, technological expertise and a focus on sustainability aligns closely with our profile. The added know-how will boost our role as a leading developer, manufacturer and recycler of plastic packaging,” said Nicolas Lehner, ALPLA Chief Commercial Officer, with firm conviction.
KM Packaging is a technical partner that supports packaging developments, reduces material consumption through lightweighting and recycles consistently. Use of up to 100% post-consumer recycled (PCR) material is possible, and screw caps and flip-tops made of HDPE are available for mono-material packaging applications.
The acquisition was signed off on June 23 and is subject to and contingent upon receipt of the legal and regulatory approval from the competent competition authorities. The parties agreed not to disclose details of the transaction.
