SACMI will present its vision of future packaging at K 2025. At the core of the vision is SACMI PURECAP, the circular economy project that aims to create a sustainable supply chain based on the use of food-grade recycled high-density polyethylene (rHDPE).

SACMI PURECAP project will make its debut at K 2025.

Fastest compression molding press for rHDPE

The highlight of the SACMI stand will be the new CCM64MD with speed up to 2,850 capsules per minute with 64 molds. It is the fastest ever compression molding press able to process input resin mixtures containing rHDPE.

Visitors can see the press in action as it produces 26/22 GME30.28 tethered caps for water, with a recycled resin content of up to 50%.

SACMI explains that the company intends to offer a complete industrial supply chain, from recycled material selection to finished market-ready caps.

SACMI uses mechanical recycling to recycle plastic that comes mainly from the beverage supply chain, including tethered caps together with bottles. The recycled material then undergoes testing both at external labs and at SACMI's Rigid Packaging LAB, in both pellet and cap form to guarantee its performance.

The company has also set the goal of providing a production recipe that achieves the optimal balance between virgin and recycled plastic, as well as the colorant parameters needed to achieve the desired color and CCM production line settings.

Linear Blow Forming system with modular configuration

SACMI LBF (Linear Blow Forming) is developed to manufacture plastic containers by integrating compression molding and subsequent stretch-blow molding into a single linear process. The full-electric system will be on show at the K Fair in Düsseldorf.

At the heart of the system lies a new linear process that begins with compression molding of the preform and continues with stretch-blow molding. The two processes are performed on the same machine, resulting in fast cycle times and a compact machine layout.

Besides, the containers manufactured are lightweight but strong, with higher consistency in both weight and thickness. They are suitable for a broad range of applications from food to pharmaceuticals.

To be presented at the SACMI stand will be the full-electric LBF 30M model, which has output rates as high as 4,000 containers/hour and comes in 2-, 4-, or 6-cavity configurations. The system uses a double set of blow molds fed by a single molding unit, raising both productivity and the final quality of the container.

SACMI LBF incorporates the Bottle Vision System (BVS), the company’s inspection system that performs in-line quality checks to verify the integrity and geometry of the container. The system is completely modular and configurable.

PVS Robot for automatic PET preform control

At K 2025, SACMI will also introduce the new PVS Robot, which takes automated off-line preform inspection to the next level.

Designed to deliver flexibility, automation and ease of use, the system integrates a Scara robot for handling and a fully automated format warehouse, allowing preforms from different presses to be inspected without any need for manual format changeovers.

Key features include the adoption of roller-type positioners with automatic format changeovers or bin picking systems with an articulated robot and 3D sensors to simplify the workers’ tasks.

Capable of inspecting up to 1,200 pieces/hour (without weighing) with a precision close to that of a quality control lab, PVS Robot has a modular, scalable structure that includes integrated weighing and configurable compliance thresholds.
