PCV valve O-rings with Syensqo’s patented Tecnoflon FKM NFS are used in various automotive parts.

Developed with Freudenberg Sealing Technologies, Syensqo’s patented Tecnoflon FKM NFS delivers outstanding performance in a Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve O-ring, which is implemented on some of the most recent General Motors vehicles.

This component features Syensqo’s breakthrough polymerization process, which enables the production of Tecnoflon peroxide-curable fluoroelastomers (FKM) without fluorosurfactants (NFS), while maintaining uncompromised performance.

Tecnoflon FKM NFS is now also certified for circular content, further demonstrating Syensqo’s ability to combine advanced material performance with progress toward circularity.

“Our Tecnoflon FKM NFS is a powerful example of how Syensqo continues to lead through technical excellence and strong collaboration with stakeholders such as GM and Freudenberg Sealing Technologies,” said Laura Hirschhorn, Executive Key Account Manager at Syensqo.

Engine sealing applications represent one of the most demanding environments in automotive design. They require materials that can withstand continuous exposure to heat, pressure, and aggressive fluids while maintaining elasticity and integrity.

Tecnoflon FKM NFS plays a crucial role in these systems where reliability and safety are non-negotiable. Its superior chemical and thermal resistance ensures consistent, long-term sealing performance, helping carmakers maintain engine efficiency, emissions control, and durability under the toughest operating conditions.
