3D-printed sculptural coffee table with bio-based transparent polyamide
Arkema has partnered with a French designed-focused start-up Poolp to create a fully 3D-printed sculptural coffee table with Arkema’s Rilsan Clear transparent polyamide pellets.

The Nomura coffee table, fully made with 3D printing and bio-based Rilsan Clear transparent polyamide.
Rilsan Clear transparent polyamide contains more than 60% bio-based content (castor oil). Its high mechanical, chemical and wear resistance, as well as durability, make it ideal for demanding applications including automotive, aerospace and premium consumer goods.
The coffee table, named Nomura based on the giant jellyfish native to Japanese water, is the result of advanced 3D modeling, generative algorithms, large-format pellet extrusion additive manufacturing, and a close dialogue between material engineering and design creation.
Poolp employs a robotic large-format 3D printing process, commonly referred to as Large Format Additive Manufacturing (LFAM), which prints directly from pellets. This approach enables rapid execution, reduced waste, and the ability to create complex, large-scale geometries.
The glass top of the Nomura coffee table is with a diameter of 90 cm and thickness of 3/4 cm while its structure is measured 90 cm x 45 cm.
