BASF and HIT to jointly work on sustainable infrastructure solutions

BASF has signed a cooperation agreement with the Harbin Insititute of Technology (HIT) to jointly conduct research relating to the material solutions for sustainable infrastructure applications.

 

According to the agreement, research teams from BASF and the Harbin Institute of Technology will work together on the testing of new applications for BASF’s advanced materials to bring lower emissions and energy costs to the construction industry.

 

“The Harbin Institute of Technology is eager to bring its expertise in advanced materials and engineering research to this partnership,” said Mr. Liu Hong, Vice President, Harbin Institute of Technology.

“As an innovation-driven company, BASF is committed to developing next-generation applications for sustainable infrastructure in China,” said Dr. Jeffrey Lou, President, Advanced Materials & Systems Research, BASF.

 

The signing is the latest step for BASF in expanding its local research network with prestigious universities across China. BASF is closely collaborating with top universities and institutes across Asia Pacific, leveraging the platform Network for Asian Open Research (NAO).

 

Since its establishment in March 2014, BASF and its partners have completed more than 43 joint research projects, with 11 postdoctoral students joining BASF after the projects’ completion.
