PPG showcases its latest powder coatings for automotive applications
PPG recently showcased its latest powder coatings products and processes at the 5th China Vehicle Corrosion and Aging Prevention and Fasteners Annual Conference and New Technology and Equipment Exhibition in Nanchang, China.
The joint December event was hosted by the Corrosion and Aging Prevention Committee of the China Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE-China).
The annual conference attracted more than 550 participants and 240 organizations, including automotive manufacturers, auto parts suppliers, materials suppliers, testing agencies and academic institutions.
Conference speaker Guoyong Qian, PPG commercial manager, powder coatings, China, discussed innovation and application of PPG powder coatings in the automotive market, specifically for truck frames.
Guoyong Qian, PPG commercial manager, powder coatings, China, delivered a speech on innovation and application of PPG powder coatings in the automotive market at the 5th Vehicle Corrosion and Aging Prevention and Fasteners Annual Conference.
Meeting stringent environmental standards and offering added customer benefits, these products and processes include:
ENVIROCRON Dual coating for coil springs, which delivers high powder transfer efficiency, increases manufacturing efficiency, improves quality and overall corrosion resistance, and effectively extends a spring’s lifecycle.
Envirocron Epoxy dielectric powder that provides excellent insulation and protection performance for all battery system components while lowering process and raw material costs.
Envirocron Polyester ultra-durable powder, which has excellent scratch resistance with a high-gloss formula. The powder reduces additional package protection costs, increases customer product quality and enhances an end product’s lifecycle.
Envirocron Powder coating with high edge cover that improves anti-corrosion performance, simplifies the coating process and delivers cost savings.
At the exhibition, PPG showcased coated samples and coatings materials for automotive springs, windshield wipers, signs, truck frames, fasteners and rubber products.
Meanwhile, two PPG employees received SAE-China’s 2019 Professional Certification for Automotive Engineers in Vehicle Corrosion and Aging Prevention during the conference.
Jeff Wang, PPG senior business director, general industrial coatings, Greater China, and Ouyang Zehua, PPG service manager, electrocoat technologies, China, previously passed SAE-China professional evaluations before being designated advanced certified engineers.
