(K-Interview) Polyplastics expands product applications and global supply capability
At K 2022, Polyplastics Group showcased the latest developments in its broadened product lines which help address the demanding end-use requirements in the medical, automotive and E&E industries, as well as the concerns about sustainable development.
In the onsite interview with Adsale Plastics Network (AdsaleCPRJ.com), Takanori Ueda, Chief Manager, Sales Division, Global Marketing Office, POLYPLASTICS (SHANGHAI) LTD., shared that automotive is one of the company's main focuses when it comes to product applications of POMs.
He also stated that Polyplastics is exploring more application possibilities for its POM product range, for example, in the medical industry.
At its booth, Polyplastics showcased solutions for different industry applications, including laser weldable POM, PBT and PPS, DURACON bG-POM made from bio-based materials, VESTAKEEP-J special PEEK compounds, and TOPAS COC series, among others.
One of the latest company’s product developments in relation to sustainability is the introduction of PLASTRON LFT resin made of specially formulated regenerated cellulose fibers, which provides weight reduction plus mechanical strength, enabling manufacturers to reduce their carbon footprint and meet up-to-date sustainability demands.
Polyplastics' expanded global supply capability that includes planned construction of a new POM, LCP and COC manufacturing plant was also emphasized at the trade fair.
Talking about the expectation on the company’s development in 2023, Takanori Ueda expressed optimism and commented that effort in product development is key for business growth amid uncertain economic situation.
