(K-Interview) Chen Hsong: IoT and energy saving are megatrends
"In the economic winter, equipment that saves energy and reduces consumption is more popular. Industry 4.0, Internet of Things (IoT), etc. can enable injection molding machines to achieve efficient, intelligent and transparent management, reducing costs and increasing efficiency. In addition, full electric machines are also favored due to their low energy consumption,” said Dave Fung, Senior Assistant to Chairman, Technical and Special Projects, Chen Hsong Holdings Limited, in the interview with Adsale Plastics Network (AdsaleCPRJ.com).
He explained that the energy crisis in Europe has caused energy prices to increase by 4-7 times in individual countries. Some countries that have not been affected have enjoyed advantages instead. Therefore, orders shifted to these countries, and their demand for injection molding machines also increased.
The European customers at Chen Hsong’s booth paid special attention to the IoT and MES system requirements of the injection molding machines. This shows that Industry 4.0 is not just a slogan, but needs to be implemented practically on production lines.
As introduced, Chen Hsong highlights the SPEED-PACK II high-speed packaging machine and the JM168-MK6.6 servo injection molding machine. The SPEED-PACKII400 demonstrates live production of dessert cups with in-mold labeling and a molding cycle of 5.6s.
The JM168-MK6.6 adopts the precise hydraulic technology of Japan's top technical team to optimize the entire oil circuit, so that the hydraulic control achieves stable, reliable and rapid response as well as ultra-high precision. With high-performance controller and high-precision injection unit, the software and hardware are optimized together. The machine demonstrates live to produce lidded food boxes with a molding cycle of 15s.
It is worth noting that the high-speed packaging machine and MK6.6 have been sold on the spot.
