(CPRJ Direct) SABIC showcases polymer solutions for achieving carbon neutrality
At K 2022, under the theme of "Making the change real", SABIC showcases polymer solutions that support OEMs, brand owners and converters to reduce climate impact.
For example, a new fully recyclable stand-up pouch made with SABIC BOPE material including Covestro’s heat-resistant coating resin technology was developed. This transparent coating prevents both film shrinkage and film sticking to heat seal bars during FFS.
A multi-layer film structure for SHEBA brand cat food pouches was also developed, using certified circular PP copolymer from SABIC’s TRUCIRCLE portfolio. The film layer has a 30% average recycled content and reduces plastic by around 25%.
The innovative applications of a variety of materials in electric vehicle (EV) battery, interior and exterior are also demonstrated.
